Bridge Drive Saturday 15 November 2014
What a great success our second fundraising Bridge Drive held at the Village Hall was.
Lorraine Wensley welcomed the 56 competitors, making up 14 tables, and thanked everyone for coming along to support AIB.
She gave some background information on past efforts to enhance the Village and described some of the events and projects AIB have been involved in. She advised that the committee are buzzing with new ideas for the coming year.
At the half time break, everyone enjoyed the cream tea and cakes served by our willing volunteers, Jill Fone and Brenda Pears.
The games began, using Chicago rules with 3 rounds each of 4 games.
After the scores were totalled, Julia and Lorraine handed out the prizes.
The Slam prize was awarded to Linda Morris and Clare Bolger with 6NT
2nd Prize winner, Susie Smith, with a score of 2,510
1st Prize winner, Ann Thomson, with a score of 2,790
Joint 3rd Prize winners, Vivienne Ayres and Gillian Mayhew,with a score of 2,370
Flowers were presented to Vivienne thanking her for helping to organise the event.
We have to thank our sponsors for donating the excellent raffle prizes, and the generosity of the competitors, which raised an amazing £220.
In addition to the raffle, there was a “Star Prize” draw, of a voucher from the Angmering Manor Hotel for Ladies Who Lunch for Two people. This raised £54 and was won by a delighted Christine Lindsay.

It was a most enjoyable afternoon of Bridge and the Association wish to thank everyone for their wonderful support in helping to raise a total of £550 towards future projects.
