AIB Competition Awards 2016

Best Front Garden, Best Public House/Hotel Garden

and Children's Art Competition

The Garden Competition Awards for 2016 took place on the morning of Wednesday 17 August at Angmering Village Hall.

 

The event began with Chairman Julia Phelon welcoming the invited guests with a presentation detailing the activities Angmering in Bloom have been involved in this year.

At the break the AIB team served coffee and tea along with some delicious cakes, provided by Tea in the Square.

 

After enjoying the refreshments the Garden Competition and Children's Art Competition Awards were announced. The prize vouchers were again generously provided by Haskins Roundstone Garden Centre.

 

Chairman Julia Phelon announced the Winners and Chairman of the Parish Council Susan Francis presented the prizes.

Results for the Best Front Garden:

 

We were very pleased to have 17 entries this year, our highest number yet, from all areas of the village in many different sizes and styles.

First Prize - 7 Pine Trees Close

 

Marie and Grant Pater received a £50 Haskins Voucher which was collected by their daughters Annabelle and Joanne.

2nd Prize - 34 Greenwood Drive

 

Angela Courten received a £20 Haskins Voucher

3rd Prize - 11 Chantryfield Road

 

Dorothy Kostelyk received a £10 Haskins Voucher

Results for the Best Public House/Hotel Garden:

 

Julia praised all the frontages of the five entries and said it had been a very hard choice for the judges.

First Prize - Brian and Karen Liston of the Woodman Arms received a £50 Haskins voucher.

Runner Up - Aaron Collis, on behalf of Michael and Naomi Collis of The Spotted Cow received a £20 Haskins voucher

Results for the Beatrix Potter Art Competition:

 

 

A pleasing number of entries were received from St Margaret's and St Wilfrid's Schools. Beatrix Potter themed prizes and a £5 Haskins gift card were presented by Parish Council Chairman Susan Francis.
