Table Top Sale Saturday 23 January 2016

Our first Table Top Sale saw seventeen tables being set up by local people selling various items such as clothes, games and toys. Despite the unpleasant weather there was a steady stream of people coming in.

All attendees were encouraged by Dudley Wensley and John Goulding to purchase raffle tickets. There were two prizes to win, a lovely planter donated by Roundstone Farm Shop & Tea Room and a bottle of whiskey by local resident Stella. Brenda Pears and new member Jose Frances also sold table top items.

Jill Fone, Judy Thompson, Lorraine Wensley and Anne MacGovern made tea and coffee and provided a selection of lovely home made cakes which were served in the King's Suite.

Dudley Wensley asked the youngest person present, Freddie Harris, to pull out the winning raffle tickets. Taking it very seriously Freddie closed his eyes and pulled out the winning ticket.

Unbelievably the winning ticket for the planter belonged to Freddie's grandmother Sheila Dean. Freddie ws presented with the planter by Lorraine Wensley on her behalf. The bottle of whiskey was won by Freda Smith.

Thanks to everyone who attended and supported this event as it raised over £250 for future projects. It was such a success that we plan to repeat it next year.
