Angmering In Bloom Association
Bridge Drive Saturday 28 November 2015
The Slam winners with 7NT were Wendy Dickens and Clare Bolger
What a great success our third fundraising Bridge Drive held at the Village Hall was.
Lorraine Wensley welcomed the 48 competitors, making up 12 tables, and thanked everyone for coming along to enjoy the afternoon and support AIB.
She gave some background information on past efforts to enhance the Village and described some of the events and projects AIB have been involved in.
The games began, using Chicago rules with 4 rounds each of 4 games.
At the half time break, everyone enjoyed a cream tea served by our willing volunteers, Jill Fone, Judy Thompson, Anne MacGovern and Brenda Pears.
After the scores were totalled, Julia and Lorraine handed out the prizes.
1st Prize winner, Irene Ward, with a score of 3,730
2nd Prize winner, Susie Smith, with a score of 3,120
3rd Prize winner, Jane Eastwood, with a score of 3,070
We have to thank our sponsors for donating the excellent raffle prizes, and the generosity of the competitors, which raised an amazing £183.
In addition to the raffle, there was a “Star Prize” draw, of a voucher donated by Angmering Manor Hotel for Ladies Who Lunch for Two people. This raised £42 and was won by a delighted Carol Fallon.
It was a most enjoyable afternoon of Bridge and the Association wish to thank everyone for their wonderful support in helping to raise a total of over £400 towards future projects.
