Plant Sale 2024<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Our annual plant sale was held on Saturday 10th June 2024 and was a great success with hundreds of plants on sale at bargain prices. Together with our raffle, cakes and coffee morning, the event raised the amazing amount of \u00a31357. All of this will be put towards buying new plants and planting them in areas across the village.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Blue Star Roundabout or Station Road Project<\/b><\/h5>\n

Some years ago, when the new cycle path was created along the A259 and up to the pedestrian crossing in Station Road, an area of rough ground was left which over time had become extremely overgrown with brambles and bindweed. This area is shown in red on the aerial photo below.<\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0AIB approached Angmering Parish Council about creating a more inviting entrance to the Village but as work on the A259 dualling was about to commence it was felt to be more appropriate to wait until this work had been completed. Finally in March 2024, when the work was completed, AIB and APC worked together to come up with a design for the area. APC commissioned Grasstex to dig out the area and lay a hard surface, similar to Cow Lane, and create a triangular flower bed in the centre.<\/p>\n

AIB approached Quercus Nursery who generously offered to donate three large multi stemmed silver birch trees for the triangular bed which AIB have now underplanted with daffodil bulbs for Spring colour. We plan to add snowdrops and black ornamental grasses in the Spring to create a low maintenance feature.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\"\"Two benches were purchased and positioned at each end of the area, one was funded by AIB and the other by The Angmering Heritage Trust.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Two planters, the same as the new one on the Village green, with Welcome to Angmering on them, were purchased by APC and placed either side of the triangular flower bed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We were delighted that two local Angmering businesses, The Stone Room Pizzeria and Bar and Cooper Adams Estate Agents, agreed to fund the annual cost of Ferring Nurseries planting the planters to provide colour and interest all year round.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Uncovering St. Nicholas’ Church<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Unveiling of a plaque in St Nicholas’ Garden illustrating the historical significance of the site that dates back to the Saxon era. Worthing Archaeological Society gave a fascinating insight into the dig and the finds discovered. AiB is grateful to The Angmering Heritage Trust & to Angmering Parish Council for grants which helped fund the project.<\/p>\n
