The Library Garden

In 2025 Angmering in Bloom were approached by the new West Sussex Library Area Manager for help restoring the overgrown garden to the rear of Angmering Library. The intention is to create a community garden which will be open during library opening hours. There are many ideas for the space, including areas for quiet reading and planting which appeals to all the senses.

Angmering in Bloom began work in April 2025. Here are some before pictures of the garden:

Over the summer the beds were weeded and overgrown plants were removed.

Cardboard was laid down to prevent further weed growth, and the beds were prepared for planting.

In September 2025 the first plants were added to the garden. Plants and compost for this project were kindly donated to the Library by Ferring Nurseries.
