In 2025 Angmering in Bloom were approached by the new West Sussex Library Area Manager for help restoring the overgrown garden to the rear of Angmering Library. The intention is to create a community garden which will be open during library opening hours. There are many ideas for the space, including areas for quiet reading and planting which appeals to all the senses.
Project updates:
April 2026
Members of the team spent the morning working in the garden, tidying up and filling planters with a variety of plants, again donated by Ferring Nurseries.

The garden is now filled with colourful plants as we prepare for the grand opening later this spring.

September 2025
The first plants were added to the garden. Plants and compost for this project were kindly donated to the Library by Ferring Nurseries.

Summer 2025
Over the summer the beds were weeded and overgrown plants removed.

Cardboard was laid down to prevent further weed growth, and the beds were prepared for planting.

April 2025
Angmering in Bloom began work on the library garden in April 2025. Some before pictures of the garden:

We are all very much enjoying working on the project, and looking forward to seeing how it develops over time!
